The Rainbow Whales take on Hudson Park Library!

As soon as we told the Rainbow Whales that we would be visiting the library to research more about bees, the kids have been hard at work preparing!

First, we created a list of some facts we knew about bees. Then, we brainstormed a list of things we wanted to learn! As soon as we arrived at the Library, Kristy the Librarian, had a story about bees already picked out for us! The book was called, Lola Meets the Bees.

Once the story finished, Kristy even showed us a preserved bee inside of a magnifying glass! Then, it was time to dig into some research! Kristy pulled several bee-related books for us.

In small groups, the kids picked which books looked interesting to them and got started. By this point, all the books surrounding the kids proved too enticing not to explore — so we let them do just that. We also made sure to check out some new Listening Books for our Listening Center!

If you’re curious about some of the things your kiddos have learned so far, please come and check out our new class book, “Stories and Research about Bees” By the Rainbow Whales! In the meantime, stay tuned for some bee-related artwork/artifacts created by your children that will be shared on StoryPark soon!
