As we embark on this journey of learning and growing together, it is our hope that we can create an environment where we encourage a sense of belonging for all families.
Throughout last week, all of the children had the opportunity to share their family picture with the class during our meeting time. Allowing space for children to share whats important to them, in this case their families, helps to build their confidence in who they are as individuals. At this age, their family means everything to them and taking the time to learn more about one another will only deepen our sense of community in the green room.
As children shared, their peers listened, asked meaningful questions and noticed similarities between their families and pictures. These are special moments that build confidence in speaking and sharing ideas with the whole group.
