Today when the children entered the Brown Room, they were delighted to find that butterflies had emerged from the chrysalises that they had been watching so carefully over the last two weeks.
The teachers set up a provocation that included the butterfly habitat, paper, colored pencils, and magnifying glasses, and invited the children to draw what they observed. We also included a signs that gave the children visual reminders about how we can interact with the butterflies safely.
The children have loved watching the butterflies throughout their life cycle—from caterpillars, to chrysalises, to butterflies. We are excited to release the butterflies into nature soon!
If you ask your child about the butterflies tonight at dinner, comment below what they say!
