Welcome to the second edition of the Blue Room digest – every other week you can find pictures and updates on the latest happenings in Flexible Fox world! Here you will also find conversation starters, important “Housekeeping” tips and upcoming dates.
The Flexible Foxes have been settling into their new classroom routines and making new connections. One way we’ve been practicing names and establishing community is through our “finger tap” greeting. Each child greets the child next to them with a gentle finger tap and a “good morning, _________!”
The level of independence that these Flexible Foxes have been showing us is amazing! They are mastering many of our daily routines, eagerly using their cleanup charts and other visuals to help them instead of checking with teachers. We’re also seeing some excellent pouring skills and kids are helping to refill the pitchers for their table mates whenever they run out of water.
These Flexible Foxes are also doing an excellent job with their “Book Look” routine. During Book Look, kids can choose to read with a partner or read on their own. This is a daily practice and the final step in their lunch cleanup routine.
We had a BLAST playing in the rain! Thank you for your support (dressing your kids in rain boots and coats, sending in fresh spare clothes, etc.) as we make space for the Flexible Foxes to engage in this special kind of play.
