The Silver Room Pizza Donuts have been so excited about our recent addition of classroom jobs. Each week, every child will have one of our 11 different jobs. With a whole week job rotation, each child will have the time to practice and grow their confidence in their specific job. We asked the children, “What does it mean to have a job? What is a job?” and this is what we heard:
“Work!”
“Something you don’t want to do but you do it and then you know it’s fun.”
“You need to work so hard!”
“Clean the floor.”
“Fix the chairs and the tables.”
“Cook some dinner.”
Please enjoy each job description below and ask your child about their weekly job responsibilities, maybe even add a home job chart to have your child help with chores around the house like setting the table, sorting laundry, and more!
Bell Ringer – This friend helps to ring the bell and let friends know when there are 5 more minutes to play or it is time to clean up.
Meeting Helper – This friend will read our schedule and let us know which teachers are helping in the Silver Room that day.
Attendance Taker – This friend will practice counting how many friends are at school that day and let us know if anyone is having a home day.
Line Leader – This friend leads our line as we transition to the different rooms in the building and is an example of how to walk in the halls and stairwells.
Door Holders – These two friends will use their bodies to help us hold the doors as we walk about the building, following right behind our line leader.
Caboose – This friend will stand at the end of our line and ensure everyone is going to the same place!
Snack Helper – This friend helps us set out our name cards for snack time and lets friends know where they are sitting.
