Professional Development

Education changes so quickly that methods, competencies, and tools become outdated in five to ten years.

Being a teacher is hard, exhausting work. That’s why, at Barrow, being a lifelong learner is seen as crucial to the educational process. It aids teachers in introducing fresh resources and methods to the classroom in order to further the educational growth of students. It also gives educators opportunities to connect with others, share their own interests and expertise, reflect and collaborate on meaningful topics, and fill their own bucket – which enriches our community as a whole.

At Barrow, everyone in the building is learning! We offer a robust variety of opportunities for teachers, administrators, and staff to continue to grow professionally.

“Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water. Through an active, reciprocal exchange, teaching can strengthen learning and how to learn.”

Loris Malaguzzi, Founder of the Reggio Approach
