Orange Room Weekly Update – Week 1 Recap

We have been hard at work in the Orange Room! We spent this week learning names, establishing routines, and building our classroom community. We’ve accomplished a lot in just 11 hours of class time, laying the foundation for a successful year together.

We invited the children to join our theme of Imagine More and had them each share a wish. See their responses below…

A quick note on “copying”… you may notice overlap between some children’s responses. This is nothing to be concerned about and in fact is something we see as a positive: it reflects the children’s interest and attention to one another, demonstrates their desire to build connections, and creates opportunities for them to learn from each other. In teacher-ese, we call this social-constructivist learning. And don’t worry… we have plenty of ways to solicit independent responses when needed.
