The Orange Room spent Science on the roof, exploring the plants which are able to withstand the cooler weather of late fall heading into winter. The students are extending their observational skills from color to shapes – examining the variety of shapes and lines that make nature a wonder to behold.
Observational work requires attention to detail. The Super Lollipops were very careful to examine each plant that they saw and to think about whether the plant was tall or short, thin or think, curvy or straight, spiky or smooth. Their drawings are indicative of the special thought they put into their observational work as they recognized similarities and differences between plants and the uniqueness of each plant in our roof garden environment.
